Sasha first came out to be transgender in high school. Sasha was not a smooth transition, but he knew that with the help of his music and family he would be able to manage it. Jim and Sasha are both song writers and are just beginning to form an official band. Since then they've performed at many local venues such as open mics. The Voice coaches never discussed Sasha's background, but Jim and Sasha have shared their story in a clip that was played prior to their performance. Jim and Sasha talked about what music they like and how Sasha picked up the guitar the very first time when she was six. The fact that his father was a teacher made it easier for Sasha to learn the craft. Sasha had a difficult time as a kid with the gender of his identity. In a post on Instagram, he revealed his problems. Then, Jim overcame with emotion as he explained the reasons why he was not able to be one of those struggling moments. Sasha Allen, The Voice contestant, was born as a girl. Sasha Allen turns 19 in 2021. At the time Sasha was a freshman in his high school years, he announced to be transgender, and then began the transition to male.
